Is this password generator safe?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser and uses crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure pseudorandom generator. The password is never sent to a server and no log is kept.

How long should my password be?

At least 16 characters with a mix of types. For accounts that matter (email, banking, password manager master password) prefer 20+ characters.

Why exclude ambiguous characters?

If you will ever type the password from memory or read it aloud, removing look-alikes (l/1/I, O/0) prevents costly typos.
