What Wi-Fi security type should I use?

Use WPA3 if the router supports it; otherwise WPA2. Never WEP or open networks — both are trivially cracked.

Is the QR code safe to print?

A QR code in your home or office is reasonable. Do not post the QR code publicly or on social media — anyone with the image can join your network.

Rotate yearly at minimum, and any time a guest with access leaves. Keep a separate guest SSID for temporary visitors.
